Kildare County Council (KCC) was asked by a local representative to provide a "full update" in relation to upgrades and the Part 8 public consultation process for a road in Kildare.
Fine Gael councillor Tim Durkan submitted the question when he attended the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District (MD) meeting, which was held on Friday, May 2 last.
His question concerned the Celbridge Road in Maynooth.

In response to his query, KCC told him via its report at the meeting: "An updated Option Selection Report is awaited from the consultants working on the Project and this report will then be discussed with the funding agency, the National Transport Authority."
"The outcome of these discussions will then be circulated to the elected members," KCC added.
Cllr Durkan in turn replied that he welcomed the report, and also expressed his wish to view (architectural) drawings in relation to the proposed upgrades.
Cyril Buggie, an engineer with KCC, asserted to Cllr Durkan that he would raise the matter with another Donal Hodgins, who is another KCC engineer, and that he would revert back to the MD members at a later point with further information.
