Members of An Garda Síochána (AGS) in County Kildare are probing the theft of a vehicle which was stolen in Athy over the Easter weekend.
The incident was detailed by Garda Brian Carroll of Newbridge Garda Station when he appeared on a KFM radio programme earlier today (April 23).
Gda Carroll explained that the crime took place between 9pm on April 19 last and 6am on April 20 (Easter Sunday 2025) in the Church View area of Athy.
He added that the vehicle that was stolen was a brown Mazda Demio car.
Gda Carroll concluded by urging anyone with information in relation to the theft to contact Athy Garda Station 059 863 4210.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a spokesperson AGS had this to say: "Gardaí are investigating the theft of a car from Church Road, Athy overnight on April 19 and April 20.
"The vehicle was recovered on April 20 in the Athy area."
"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson concluded.
