Kildare Creative Sphere proudly launched its second group exhibition, Connections, on Tuesday evening, 8th April at the Naas Library and Cultural Centre, Kildare.
The exhibition features work by 13 of the group’s members and will run until Friday, 19th April, and can be viewed during library opening hours.
The exhibition showcases a rich and diverse response to the theme of “connection,” explored through painting, sculpture, print, and mixed media.
The exhibiting artists are: Bairbre Herbert, Rosemary Noonan, Amy O’Connor, Eileen Keane, Lí Ní Chearbhaill, Lyn B. Worrall, Deirdre Groves, Andrea Frugyik-Freind, Deirdre McNally, Lisa Woods, Frances Al-Sayyed, Anna de Cleir, and J.D. Luttrell.

The exhibition was officially opened by Library Manager Catherine Mackey and group member Rosemary Noonan.
In her speech, Rosemary reflected on the group’s journey over the past two years, highlighting the strong bond of friendship and creative support that has developed among the members.
“We’ve grown from strength to strength,” she said.
“Over these last two years, we’ve motivated one another, collaborated deeply, and built something truly special. Long may it last.”
Members Eileen Keane and Lyn B. Worrall also spoke at the event, sharing their appreciation for the group’s dedication and unity. Lyn designed the exhibition brochure, while Bairbre Herbert and Rosemary were instrumental in organising the event.
Special thanks were extended to Andrea Dermody and the Naas Library and Cultural Centre for hosting the Connections exhibition and for providing the group with a meeting space in its early days back in 2023.
Rosemary also acknowledged Anthony Haughey from the Arthouse in Athy and Vivian Carroll of Judge Roy Beans for their continued support in offering weekly meeting spaces, which helped the group to grow and thrive.
Kildare Creative Sphere was founded in 2022 by a group of artists who first collaborated during a residency at Riverbank Arts Centre. Their exhibition, Freedom of Choice, curated by Clodagh Kelly and supported by a bursary from Kildare Arts Service, took place as part of the First Fortnight Festival.
The group later chose the name Kildare Creative Sphere, inspired by the nearby sculpture Perpetual Motion in Naas.
With 27 active members, the group continues to meet weekly, fostering artistic exchange, collaboration, and community.
Connections celebrates these bonds and is open to the public until Friday, 19th April during Naas Library’s opening hours.
