An e-bike was stolen from grounds of a Kildare-based university, a garda has said.

The theft was highlighted on KFM yesterday (April 9 last) by Garda Shane Smyth of Naas Garda Station.

He explained that the crime took place on the evening of Saturday, April 5 last on the grounds of Maynooth University.

Gda Smyth added that the battery was removed from the e-bike.

He concluded by urging anyone with information about the theft to contact Maynooth Garda Station on 01 629 2380.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about the crime, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí received a report of the theft of a bicycle at an educational premises in Maynooth, County Kildare on Saturday night, April 5, 2025, between 10pm and 11pm."

"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson added.
