Construction works are continuing on the Royal Canal Greenway scheme from Louisa Bridge in Leixlip to Maynooth Harbour, Kildare County Council (KCC) has said.

The following full update was provided by KCC: "Upgrade works are continuing on the R148 Road between Pike Bridge and Deey Bridge (Blakestown).

"A two-way road narrowing temporary traffic management layout and a road works speed limit reduction (from 80km / hr to 50km / hr) are in place for these works."

KCC continued: "Between Wednesday, April 9 and Friday, April 11, a stop / go one-way shuttle system will be in place for road resurfacing works.

"Section of the towpath / greenway from R406 Straffan Road, Maynooth to Pike Bridge is closed for upgrade works.

"Section of the towpath / greenway from Pike Bridge to Deey Bridge (Blakestown) is closed for upgrade works."

KCC concluded by saying that general arrangement drawings for the scheme can be viewed on its official website
