Kildare man in court after more than €66,000 cash found hidden in car

Gardaí found some €66,150 in cash which was hidden in a car, it was alleged at Naas district court.

Sgt Mary Meade told the court that the money was discovered in a “concealment” within a transit vehicle at an address at Oaktree Avenue, Kildare town.

Francis Carroll, 45, whose address was given as Sunnyhill Cottage, Sunnyhill Stud, Kilcullen, is being prosecuted for allegedly possessing the money at 41 Oaktree Avenue, on July 18, 2024.

Sgt Meade claimed that the money was found during a search of the van and the concealment was located on the floor of the vehicle.

Judge Desmond Zaidan adjourned the case for the preparation of a book of evidence to October 7, 2025.
