The Naas Roads Policing Unit performed Speed Checks in Mountrice near Monasterevin and at Rathcoffey in Co Kildare recently.
The operation was targetting 50 km/h and 60 km/h Zones following complaints from local residents and vulnerable road users, walkers, runners and cyclists.
The complaints included concerns about excessive speed and dangerous overtaking of vulnerable road users.
According to gardaí, residents also said they "felt unsafe exiting their houses onto the main road due to motorists travelling well in excess of the speed limit."
Garddaí said that some of the excessive speeds detected were "very concerning".
Fines of €160 and 3 penalty points issued to all motorists detected breaking the law. .
Gardaí added: "We will continue to monitor all speed zones throughout the County.
