Told daughter he'd attempted suicide because child's mother was mean to him, Kildare court hears

A man told his chilld he had attempted suicide because their mother was mean to him.

This was the claim made by the mother and the man’s partner at a family law hearing in Naas District Court.

The man was not present or represented for the hearing.

The woman said the child is very bright.

She also said he had convinced her that everybody would hate her because of the school the child attends.

The woman also claimed he had sent threatening and abusive texts.

The woman also claimed that man is on psychiatric treatment and she said she is permanently stressed.

She further claimed he had said that if the child switches school he will buy them a pony.

She also said the child is stressed and got up at night recently.

Judge John Brennan granted an interim protection order and he said the man can only communicate with the woman about the child via whatsapp.
