Two Kildare clubs, Klub Kildare and Newbridge Town FC have submitted their application to join the new League of Ireland Division 3 South when it launches in 2026.

A total of 20 clubs will enter into the League of Ireland Division 3 across the North and South divisions. The cut-off date for applications has passed and 67 clubs have applied for the 20 spots.

Klub Kildare currently have underage teams operating within the League of Ireland structure while Newbridge Town FC play in the Leinster Senior League alongside a host of elite clubs who have also applied for places.

Soccer fans around the county will no doubt hope for at least one success story from these applications with no club in the League of Ireland divisions in Kildare.

The clubs bidding for spots will have their applications reviewed and suitability inspected in terms of finances, facilities, and several other qualitative factors to become a potential LOI club.
