A planning permission application currently with Kildare County Council (KCC) shows that Leixlip United AFC wishes to construct the clubhouse at Collinstown in Leixlip.
The description of the application notes that applicant wishes to ''demolish [the] existing temporary prefabricated structure called 'meeting room' with provision for [a] new 183 square metres, two-storey clubhouse.
This proposed clubhouse would include an outdoor terrace, a new disabled access route, a new roof mounted solar panels, a new bicycle rack area and a new soakaway pit'.
In addition, Leixlip United AFC is also seeking permission from KCC for the following changes:
Lastly, the application shows that no proposed works are being sought to the existing clubhouse, which would remain in use as changing facilities.
The date received on the application is listed as March 14 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as April 17 and May 8 respectively.
According to the official website of Leixlip United AFC, it was established in 1969 and operates out of the Leixlip Amenities Centre in Collinstown.
