Kildare man remembered as a 'true gentleman' following his death in nursing home

Tributes have poured in for Kildare man John Farrelly who has recently died in The Residence Nursing Home in Maynooth, Kildare.

John was from Mainham in Clane and late of "Rye Cottage", Main St in Leixlip.

He died on March 4th 2025 and will be greatly missed by his loving wife Margaret, son Paul, daughter-in-law Oksana, granddaughters Jennifer and Sofia, brother Eugene, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered John as a kind, gentle man, with one mourner writing,

"So sorry for your great loss. John was a great man for the chats and laughs.He will live forever in your hearts. At peace now."

Another message said, "Sincere condolences to wife Margaret son Paul and family brother Eugene on the sad passing of John may he rest in peace. Very obliging and helpful gentleman."

"Sincere sympathy Margaret on the sad passing of John. A true gentleman who will be missed in Clane. Sympathy also to Paul and extended families. May he rest in peace," another message said.

Funeral Arrangements:

Reposing at Oliver Reilly's Funeral Home, Woods House, Clane (W91YPX4) on Thursday from 4pm - 8pm with evening prayers at 7pm. 

Removal from Oliver Reilly's Funeral Home on Friday at approx. 10am to arrive at St. Patrick and St. Brigid's Church, Clane for 10.30am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in Mainham Cemetery, Clane.
