Kildare need to "reset" ahead of two crucial games says manager

“You would be disappointed overall in certain aspects of the game. We actually performed well and had a lot of very good chances in the first half, but when you are playing a seasoned team like Armagh you just can’t make unforced errors. We did and we got punished,” the words of Kildare manager Pat Sullivan after his side's 2-15 to 1-7 loss.

“They really pressed high up the field and when we got turned over they punished us. I would be disappointed going home because I don’t think we came and performed in the way that we can.”

The Lilies boss use of the word “punished” is certainly apt because time and time again the eventual winners demonstrated an unbelievable quality of shooting in this game.

Sullivan added, “It’s a day to reset and see where we are. We are disappointed, but we also know that we have to tweak a few things here and get ready for three weeks time. This Mayo game and the following week against Tyrone have become massive. We have to refocus really quickly.”

Kildare currently sit sixth in Division 1 on six points after round 5.
