New train station should be built in this Kildare town

Kildare County Council asked to include it in plan to develop a major site

There has been a call for a rail station to be developed in Naas.

Fine Gael councillor Evie Sammon said Kildare County Council should engage with the Department of Transport.

The councillor says this should form part of the proposal to develop the North West Quadrant, an area around Ploopluck and Osberstown.

Cllr Sammon said the masterplan for this site should ensure that a train station is provided for Naas.
