A Kildare hotel has confirmed it will not be selling up for the proposed use of its facilities to accommodate international protection applicants.
The Moyvalley Hotel and Golf Resort, which ended weeks of speculation about its future, said it wants to continue to serve the public and be a venue for family events such as birthdays, communions and weddings.
Earlier this month, a protest attracting over 100 peple was held outside the hotel, located near Enfield on the Kildare/Meath border.
It's believed that discussions were ongoing in recent weeks between an international businessman and the Department of Integration to accommodate 24 families in 24 apartments on the grounds of the complex.
Tenants staying in the short-stay self-catering accommodation had received eviction notices.

But a statement issued by Moyvalley Hotel confirmed it will not be sold and it will be business as usual going forward for the popular venue.
Moyvalley Hotel said:
"Last week we decided that we are better placed to fulfil the needs of Moyvalley and our patrons.
"We will not be selling the resort and will continue our stewardship moving forward long into the future with a program of investment.
"As we face into this bright new future, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your continued support of Moyvalley and hope we can continue to be the place for you to choose for all your occasions, birthdays, communions or indeed weddings.
"Our team are looking forward to welcoming you all back."
