Deaf woman secures order in Kildare court

A woman described in court as being deaf got a protection order.

She came before Naas District seeking protection under family law legislation.

The woman who is herself alleged to have abused  her partner, alleged through  someone who assisted her for hearing, that her partner was endeavouring to use her children against her.

She also alleged that the man, who was not present for the bearing,  was using her disability against her.

The matter was adjourned for a fuller hearing and Judge Desmond Zaidan directed that a sign language interpreter be available to assist the woman and the court on the adjourned date.
