Pedestrian crossing needed in this Kildare town

Kildare County Council says money will have to be found

Controversial works on Poplar Square to start in early 2017

A request has been made for a new pedestrian crossing in Naas.

Cllr Evie Sammon told a municipal district committee meeting that it would be provided at Dublin Road, near the Meadows and Byrne outlet.

Kildare County Council responded that there are numerous requests for pedestrian improvements across the county.

But funding will have to be found to do the work because it is not funded by the National Transport Authority.
