Phenomenal!'- Kildare shows huge interest in astronomy event
As part of Irish Astronomy week, an astronomy talk will be held at Naas Library hosted by John Walsh on March 4.
There has been huge interest in this event from Facebook users who have gave positive comments and feedback to John Walsh, who is an amateur astronomer from Ballinamuck in County Longford, living in Sallins.
He studied Physics at the University of Limerick but has had a lifelong interest in astronomy.
In 2024 John decided to take the next step and try Astrophotography and and has been deeply involved in the hobby ever since.
His talk at Naas Library will cover everything from tripods and DSLR cameras to telescopes and mounts, to stacking, calibration frames, guiding and processing.
He will also talk about the night sky in general and his own background to the hobby.
"If you are interested in astronomy or taking photos of the night sky, you might be interested in attending," John said.
The talk is suitable for a range of experience levels, from complete beginners or enthusiasts, to more experienced intermediate imagers.
"I'll be giving a free talk entitled 'A beginners guide to Astrophotography' in Naas library on 4th of March at 7pm," John Walsh said.
One Facebook user commented, "How on earth do you get photos like that,they are absolutely amazing."
Another person said, "John Walsh they are fantastic I will be there - great work!!!".
"Great photos you must be a very good photographer," another person said.
