Kildare County Council has no proposals to provide long term leases to football clubs in Naas.
Local politician Seamie Moore said if this is done clubs, like Naas AFC, may be able to apply for grants.
He also asked why KCC cannot provide or give permission for “basic changing room or toilet facilities.”

He added, at a Naas Municipal District meeting, “they can’t be stripping on the middle of the road all this time.”
He also pointed out that both sexes are in need of the facilities.
KCC official Simon Wallace said there are no plans to issue a long term lease and any development of changing facilities will be subject to identifying appropriate locations, design and resources to deliver them.
“Additionally any changing or toilet facilities would be on a shared basis between clubs or organisations that require them,” he added.
