Plans are being made for a new cemetery in north Kildare.
Cllr Paul Brooks asked Kildare County Council about the plans for the burial ground near Leixlip.
He also asked, at a Celbridge Leixlip Municipal District committee meeting, about “the expected time left for the current cemetery in Leixlip.”

According to KCC official Marian Higgins the council is currently investigating the suitability of a potential site near Confey.
She added that there is no definitive timeline at present but local councillors will be kept abreast of developments.
