Know this man? Kildare Gardaí investigating rape in Athy

Gardaí released an evo-fit image and description of the suspect and appealed for help from the public

Gardaí in Kildare Town Station are investigating an incident of rape in Athy. 

At approximately 7.30pm on October 13 last, the female victim was walking the River Barrow Walkway, when she was approached by the male suspect, who dragged her to the ground.

After the incident the suspect ran away in the direction of Athy town.

Gardaí released an evo-fit image and description of the suspect and appealed for help from the public. 

Suspect Description:-

  • Height - 6ft 2 to 6ft 4
  • Age - Early to mid-30’s
  • Build - very thin
  • Face - Skinny oval shaped long face ( gaunt sunken in cheeks ) and facial stubble
  • Nose - Big
  • Distinctive eyes
  • His fringe hair (dark brown ) appeared from under the peak of cap
  • North Kildare / Dublin accent
  • Wore all black clothing; peak cap
