She’s an odd one; a lonely girl living at the edge of the world, ridiculed by her peers and unable to fit in.

Torn between the society that rejects her and her own wilder nature, she creates her own world, and lives as best she can.

She sees the rest of them, but holds them at a distance. We meet her on the day that is today — and today is made different by the arrival of a letter. An opening. A suggestion of potential life beyond this place and these people.

Once Off Productions presents The Hare, a new play from co-writers Clare Monnelly and Bob Kelly. Directed by Bob Kelly, performed by Úna ní Bhriain with live music by Steve Wickham (The Waterboys).

Sound design is by Joe Hunt while set and costume design is by Jenny Whyte. Michael Cummins is in charged of lighting design while dramaturgy by Eleanor White. The producer is Sadhbh Barrett Coakley. Funded by The Arts Council, the play was originally developed with support from the Abbey Theatre and Cairde Sligo Arts Festival.

The play will be staged at the Riverbank Arts Centre on March 28. Further information on www.riverbank.ie
