LATEST: Plans for 30 apartments near Kildare village blocked

Two blocks of apartments were to provide a total of 30 homes
An Bord Pleanála has refused planning permission for 30 apartments in Sallins.
The proposed €6m development was earmarked for beside Oldbridge Park off the Sallins Road in Osberstown.
Two blocks of apartments were to provide a total of 30 homes on the 1.4 hectare site.
Some 37 car parking bays (with standalone electric car charging points) and 82 bicycle spaces were included in the plans.
Being planned on a tract of disused and overgrown land was an area of public open space for the community.
The designs included the planting of a wild flower area and extensive landscaping and internal access footpaths.
Children’s play equipment within a freshly grassed area was also due to be installed.
