Kildare GAA: Moorefield get better of Allenwood, eventually

Moorefield defeated Allenwood in the Joe Mallon Motors, SFC Group C, opening round at Cedral St Conleth's Park, Newbridge, this afternoon (Saturday 16 August) and while were was seven points between the sides in the end, the result does not do justice to Allenwood who pushed The Moores all the way.

Moorefield got an early goal through Dan Hanniffy but Allenwood hit back with Eoin Bagnall in great form hitting two two-pointers (and another two in the second half) as the Newbridge side led at the break 1-6 to 0-8.

The teams were level three times in the scond hhalf before Moorefield eventually pulled a few points clear before Aaron Masterson found the net in the 55 minute to clinch the title.

Final score: Moorefield 2-16 Allenwood 0-15.
