The vehicle was seized under Section 109 of the Road Traffic Act
Naas gardai recently seized an illegal KuKirin M4 Pro e-scooter in Kildare under Section 109 of the Road Traffic Act.
The vehicle weighs 22.6kg, is powered by a 500-watt motor, and is capable of speeds of 50 km/h.
The vehicle is not legal on Irish public roads.
The owner must now apply to the District Court for recovery of the vehicle.
A garda spokesperson said: “At 50 km/h, there are no winners when things go wrong. A fall, a pedestrian, a cyclist or a car can turn a ride into a life-changing tragedy in seconds.
“Our message is simple: don't buy one. Don't ride one on public roads. If we find it, we will seize it. Your journey isn't worth your life.”
