Three Penalty Points were also issued

Gardaí based in County Kildare have issued a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice (FCPN) to a motorist who was caught speeding 'in a known collision black spot'.

As explained by An Garda Síochána Kildare via Facebook, Naas Roads Policing Unit recently conducted a speed check in Painstown.

According to the account, the motorist was specifically stopped at ‘a known collision black spot’ with a 60 km / h speed limit.

The account continued: “One driver clearly couldn't wait to get to Mondello.

“A car transporter carrying a track car to a track day was detected travelling at 97km / h in a 60km / h zone.”

An Garda Síochána Kildare revealed that a FCPN worth €160 and three Penalty Points were issued to the motorist.

“Mondello is the place for speed; Painstown isn't,” the account added.

An Garda Síochána Kildare concluded: “Remember: If you're bringing a race car to the track, that doesn't mean the tow vehicle gets to compete too.”
