There is increasing concern over the future of Naas Courthouse

Naas Courthouse

A woman told Naas District court that her former boyfriend has been abusing alcohol and had passed out on the doorstep.

“I had to bring him inside,” she alleged at Naas District Court.

The court heard that the woman and man live in the same dwelling but the woman claimed that he has mental health issues and had had a nervous breakdown.

The woman further claimed that he is abusive and is pushing her.

She said he invited home strangers he met in a chipper.

The woman also said she had to call an ambulance more than once.

The woman further alleged that she had called the gardaí on five occasions.

Judge Desmond Zaidan granted an interim protection order to the woman and adjourned the case to March 28.

The judge said the man needs help and said that if this issue is sorted “he’s not a bad guy.”

He said there was a risk the man might kill himself if he doesn't get help and he urged the woman to contact people who know him to encourage him to seek assistance.
