Kildare learner drivers waiting only five weeks for test

Below average waiting times for driving tests in Kildare

The average waiting time for a driving test in Kildare is 5.2 weeks, which is below average compared to the national figure.

However the most anyone has waited is 11 weeks.

Figures recently released Independent Senator Victor Boyhan reveal that 1052 people have applied for a test appointment, with a further 994 who have been given a date for their test.

Senator Boyhan has called for private testers to be employed to reduce waiting times.

The longest waiting list in the Tallaght centre where 2,300 are waiting for a test, while the longest waiting time is 20 weeks at Limerick.

At 17.6 weeks, Wicklow has the worst average waiting times.
