Anger over parking fines threats in Monasterevin

Parking concerns

Sinn Fein are calling for clarity in relation to parking in Monasterevin after a local representative received a large amounts of complaints from residents and shoppers.

"The parking situation in Monasterevin has been crazy with people being threatened with parking tickets and the whole situation is very unclear. I have called for a review of the situation and through Cllr Mark Lynch I have had the below clarification. A two hour maximum parking limit is being proposed by the council and I have asked them to go public consultation immediately to get peoples view. They hope to do this soon," said Patricia Ryan, who is running in the local elections for the party.

In response to her query, Kildare County Council said: "It is proposed to bring two hour maximum stay parking bye-laws into Monasterevin. This is a statutory public consultation. Members will be notified prior to any advertisement of this public consultation."
