Athy's Red Balloon Event to boost business this Thursday

More than 40 traders expected to take part

Athy's Red Balloon Event to boost business this Thursday

The initiative hopes to boost business in the town.

This coming Thursday, April 12, will see an initiative by a group of Athy businesses to attract customers to the town.

Called the “Red Balloon Event” the idea is that businesses with a red balloon symbol will offer considerable discounts, special offers and a entry into a raffle. They will also stay open late, up to 9pm. This will include restaurants and coffee shops.

Organisers say that more than 40 businesses are set to participate, and are urging the public to get involved and to “explore what Athy has to offer”. It’s the first time it’s been done, but Cat Dooley of Rock Frocks says they would certainly be open to doing it again. She said that the idea was to “boost a bit of business around the town” and added that the idea is for the people of the town as much as it is for the businesses.
