Gardai appeal for witnesses to fatal Kildare motorway crash

Man lost his life in early hours of this morning near Kilcullen

Gardaí investigating the fatal collision on the M9 northbound between junctions 2 and 3, close to Kilcullen, in the early hours of this morning are appealing for witnesses.

A pedestrian, a man in his early 40s, was fatally injured when he was struck by a car at about 3.30 am on April 8. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was not injured.

Road closures are in place to facilitate an examination of the crash site by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Northbound traffic is being directed off the motorway at junction 3 (Athy).

Gardaí would like to speak to anyone who may have travelled on the M9 between Kilcullen and Athy between 2.30 and 4.30am.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Naas Garda Station on 045 884300.
