A man has died after being struck by a car on the M9 motorway northbound in the early hours of this morning, Sunday, April 8.
The incident happened at around 3.30am on the M9 between junctions 2 and 3, close to Kilcullen. Gardai and emergency services are at the scene this morning.
The victim, a pedestrian, was fatally injured when he was struck by a car and was pronounced dead at the scene. His age is not yet known. The driver of the car was not injured.
Road closures are in place to facilitate an examination of the crash site by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Northbound traffic is being directed off the motorway at junction 3 (Athy).
