Kildare rail services hit due to overnight snow

Delays on line as gardai issue advice not to undertake unnecessary journeys in Kildare

Irish Rail is warning of significant delays to its rail service this morning due to overnight snow in Kildare, Dublin and other parts of Leinster.

Sunday services are operating on the lines as planned, but services on the Maynooth line are operating up to half an hour late due to the snowy conditions.

Dart services in Dublin are operating up to 40 minutes late and there are delays on all other lines. According to Irish Rail, there are delays on services into and out of Dublin due to points problems caused by the snow.

Dublin Coach has advised that its services are running normally today, but it is advising customers to leave extra time for their journeys, due to icy roads and the snowy weather conditions.

There are no reports yet of Bus Eireann services through Kildare being affected.

Meanwhile, gardai have advised motorists to be careful on Kildare roads due to the unsafe driving conditions.
