Pair charged with €100k drugs possession in Tesco Newbridge

The case was heard at Naas District Court yesterday.

Two men appeared at Naas District Court last Thursday, March 8, charged with exchanging  €100,000 worth of drugs in the carpark of Tesco in Newbridge.

Robert Browne, 30, with an address listed as 24 Chesterfield Downs, Limerick is charged with possession of €200,000 of cannabis herb at Tesco car park in Newbridge, and possession of the drug for sale or supply on February 23 last.

And Henry Fadipe, 26, with an address listed as 1991 Apartment 6 Block A, The Avenue, Abbeylands, Clane is charged with possession of €100,000 worth of the drug on Edward Street, Newbridge.

Judge Desmond Zaidan was told that it would be alleged that the two men were spotted meeting in the carpark of Tesco, Newbridge and that a package was taken from Mr Browne’s car and transferred to Mr Fadipe’s car.

The latter drove out of the car park and was apprehended by Gardai.

When Gardai approached Mr Browne, it will be alleged that they discovered drugs in his car. Both cars contained five kilograms of cannabis, each worth, the Gardai told the court, €100,000 each.

The matter was adjourned to Naas District Court on July 5, 2018.
