Rents on the up in Kildare again

Kildare is an expensive place to live

AVERAGE rents for three bed semi detached houses in county Kildare rose by over 8% between the second quarters of 2016 and 2015.

Latest figures from the Private Rental Tenancies Board show that the county average was 8.1% bringing the figures to €976.13.

But there were larger rises in many of the larger towns. In Maynooth, a 13.4% rise was recorded, while Clane saw a 12.6% increase, Athy, 10%, Celbridge Newbridge both 9.3%.

The smallest rise was in Kildare town, 2.7%.

When the Leader looked at the average for all types of property, the county increase was 8.4% but Kill saw an 18.1% jump.

When it came to apartments, Monasterevin recorded a 18.4% jump.
