A petition is now live by a Kildare community who is calling on Kildare County Council to provide a secure, fenced dog exercise area in local park.
The petition has accumulated over 30 signatures since it was created this week.
The proposal is calling on Kildare County Council to provide a secure, fenced dog exercise area within Kerdiffstown Park, Johnstown, Co Kildare.
"Currently, there is no designated space in the park for dogs to exercise safely off-lead. We believe Kildare should follow the successful model of Corkagh Park in Clondalkin, which has proven that fenced dog runs improve safety and reduce conflict for all park users," the petition states.

The petition explains that having a dedicated fenced area for dogs will:
"We respectfully ask the Council to implement this simple, high-impact improvement for the benefit of the whole Johnstown community and surrounding areas," the petition states.
