You might spot Emily Blunt in Kildare over the coming weeks as filming gets underway on her new movie, Walk the Blue Fields.

Based on a short story by Claire Keegan, the script has been developed by Conor McPherson. It's understood, production staff have been scouting locations in Rathangan over the past month.

The film tells the story of a woman on her wedding day being confronted with a heart-wrenching decision, as a love triangle from her past threatens to be revealed.

The County Kildare town is no stranger to movies with several scenes in This is My Father being shot in the town and surrounding areas. Eat the Peach was also filmed nearby at Lullymore, while Solitary, directed by Eamonn Murphy, was filmed primarily in the grounds of Rathangan Church.
