A woman has been seriously injured following a road traffic collision which occurred near the Kildare-Wicklow border.
Explaining the situation, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a serious single-vehicle road traffic collision at Grange Beg, Dunlavin, County Wicklow, on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
"The collision, involving a car, occurred at approximately 6.25pm.
"A female passenger of the car (aged in her 20’s) was conveyed to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. No other injuries were reported at the time."
After noting that the road is currently open, the spokesperson continued: "A male (aged in his 20’s) was arrested at the scene.
"He has since been released without charge.
"Investigations are ongoing."
In addition, the spokesperson said that gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward: "Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the Grange Beg, Dunlavin, County Wicklow area between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 are asked to make it available to Gardaí."
The spokesperson concluded: "Anyone with information is asked to contact Naas Garda Station on (045) 884 300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
