New research from Virgin Media Ireland has revealed that Kildare ranks sixth among Ireland’s most popular filming locations, reinforcing its status as a top choice for filmmakers.

The research, linked here, examined over 250 movies and TV shows filmed in Ireland using IMDb data to reveal the most in-demand filming locations.

Kildare has been featured in films such as Dating Amber, The Bright Side, Shell Shock, and more.

With Kildare ranking top six in the country, it proves it's not only a prime filming location but also a rising hub for talent like Paul Mescal, best known for his breakout role in the hit TV series Normal People.

The top six filming hotspots are as follows:

  • Dublin
  • Wicklow
  • Cork
  • Galway
  • Donegal
  • Kildare
