Kildare householders have until Monday to recycle Christmas trees.

Kildare County Council is providing a free service to the public where they can bring their real Christmas trees to be recycled in a sustainable way.

In total, there are 7 sites across the county where this service is provided.

  • Athy, Meeting Lane Carpark
  • Council Yard, Celbridge Interchange
  • Clane, GAA Club
  • Naas, Fairgreen
  • Newbridge, Lidl Distribution Centre (beside the R445 Roundabout)
  • Maynooth, Council Depot, beside Fire Station
  • Monasterevin, Moore Abbey Coillte Carpark

The Christmas trees are shredded, and the mulched trees are made available to be used on local landscaping projects.

The sites are open from Friday the 3rd to Monday the 20th of January 2025.
