Work on massive housing scheme in Kildare

Work is continuing on a large-scale residential development (LRD) of 237 homes on a site of 14.3 hectares in Leixlip.

The estimate construction value of the project by Glenveagh Homes is €37m, according to Building Information Ireland database. 

Construction has just begun on a two-storey creche, according to Building Information Ireland database. 

The site is bordered by the Celbridge Road (R404) and the existing residential developments of Leixlip Park and Wogansfield to the north; the M4 Motorway to the south; and by agricultural lands to the east.

The 237 residential units will comprise: 

  • 30 two-bedroom houses
  • 124 three-bedroom houses
  • 13 four-bedroom houses
  • 20 one-bedroom apartments
  • 22 two-bedroom duplex apartments and
  • 22 No. three-bedroom duplex apartments.

here will also be a public open space totalling 7.71 ha comprising amenity space and communal open space.

The development will also consist of 303 car parking spaces, electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and 355 bicycle parking spaces.
