Labour leader Ivana Bacik visited North Kildare this week, stopping in Leixlip, Celbridge, Maynooth and Naas. 
The Dublin Bay South TD spent a busy day supporting North Kildare General Election candidate, Cllr. Angela Feeney and party colleagues.
Councillor Angela Feeney said,' It's been 12 months since Ivana last visited North Kildare, and it's fantastic to welcome her back. I'm delighted to have her support as I continue my General Election campaign.’
A rain-soaked day began with Leixlip's Cuidiú Parenting Support Group, which is celebrating National Breastfeeding Week.
Then, on to Celbridge, and after a pitstop in Creed Coffee, the need for a second bridge and a solution to the Castletown impasse proved the talking points. 
The Labour team then gathered in Maynooth's Mullen Park Estate Park near its unopened crèche building. In 2021, Councillor Feeney was instrumental in making sure these houses were not sold in bulk to vulture funds and are now occupied by families. There was also a meeting with some members of the business community at Maynooth Bookshop followed by Maynooth University Students’ Union officers.
The visit continued with a tour of Maynooth's Greenfield/Fitzgerald Close Social Housing Site where 65 units are being built to meet the much needed homes.
 
In Naas, the new Library and Cultural centre was the venue for the last stop and a walkabout on Main Street provided an opportunity to meet local residents.
"Across North Kildare, Labour representatives are working tirelessly to support communities, provide better amenities and services, tackle the housing crisis and improve childcare. These issues align with Labour's national strategy,” Cllr. Angela Feeney adds.
