Gardaí are currently seeking information relating to an incident in which a man punched a defibrillator after being refused service at a North Kildare pub.
The incident was discussed by Garda Mark Connolly when he appeared on KFM earlier today.
He said that the incident occurred at 9pm on the evening of Friday, September 6 last.
Gda Connolly explained: "A man wearing a dark baseball cap and a green shirt was refused service at The Turn Inn in Derrinturn, and as he proceeded to leave the premises, he punched the defibrillator outside."
He added: "Fortunately, the machine is still operable."
Gda Connolly concluded by urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Leixlip Garda Station on 01 666 7800.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí received a report of an incident of criminal damage that occurred in the Carbury / Derrinturn area, County Kildare at approximately 9pm on Friday, September 6, 2024."
The spokesperson added that garda investigations are ongoing at this time.
