A rehabilitation facility is being considered for the Race Training Academy located in Kildare town.
Irish Injured Jockeys CLG has applied for planning permission from Kildare County Council to make the changes to the Academy.
The organisation is seeking a change of use / repurposing part of an existing sports hall at the Academy for use as a rehabilitation facility.
According to the description: "Works to be located at ground level to include: new physiotherapy and consultation suites, recreational space, toilets, changing rooms, ancillary offices and storage."
The description added: "Works to be located at existing first floor level, with permission to extend existing first floor level within the existing building envelope to include innovation / sustainability hubs, classrooms, canteen and ancillary offices."
Irish Injured Jockeys CLG is also seeking permission for the provision of a double-height side extension to be used as a new entrance to the facility through a previously used escape door and entrance canopy.
In addition, the group is seeking permission for the connection to the existing site services, as well as all associated development works.
The date received is listed as September 6 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as October 10 and October 31 respectively.
Irish Injured Jockeys CLG was established in 2014.
According to its website, it was set up to 'increase awareness and raise vital funds to support injured jockeys.'
