Information about loss of the public water supply is to be sought by Kildare County Council from Uisce Éireann.
KCC cathaoirleach Joe Neville said KCC needs to know how many people have been impacted by water outages.
He said KCC should ask Uisce Éireann to provide a list of water pipe bursts and as well as data about the number of residents affected in County Kildare since January 1, 2023.
Cllr Nuala Killeen said there have been water outages affecting the Celbridge, Maynooth and Leixlip areas.
“These larger mains need upgrading,” she told a KCC meeting.
Cllr Lumi Panaite Fahey said information is also needed from UE about when repairs will be undertaken.
More recently Naas has been hit by an unscheduled loss of supply - as well as a planned outage affecting the town in the greater Naas area.
