Kildare is sure to be celebrating as a player has scooped the top prize of €250,000 in last night’s Lotto Plus 2 draw!

The winner, from the Thoroughbred County, purchased the winning ticket online on the National Lottery app.

The National Lottery has confirmed that a notification and an email has been sent to the Kildare online player.

The top prize winner is advised to make contact with the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize in Lotto Headquarters.

The winning numbers in the Wednesday, August 14, Lotto Plus 2 draw were: 6, 18, 24, 33, 35, 39 Bonus 23.

National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Ruane said: "Imagine waking up on a dreary Thursday morning to find you are a quarter of a million richer? Well, that’s reality for one Lotto player from Kildare this morning!

"This is the third Lotto Plus 2 top prize win of the year, following recent wins in Westmeath and Galway.

"We encourage the winner to reach out to our National Lottery prize claims team as soon as possible by calling 1800 666 222 or emailing claims@lottery.ie."

"Arrangements will be made for them to collect their prize at Lottery Headquarters—what a thrilling start to the week!," she concluded.

As there was no outright winner of the €6,323,992 jackpot on offer on the 14th of August draw, Saturday’s jackpot is now set to roll towards an estimated €6.8 million.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language.

In total, more than €6 billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 36 years ago.

In 2022 alone, €259.5 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
