An alleged instance of sexual assault took place in a County Kildare shop, Naas District Court was told.
The case was heard in front of Judge Desmond Zaidan on Thursday, July 25 last.
The accused did not appear in court on the date in question, as he was sick-noted for a medical procedure.
In his place, defending solicitor Seamus Boyle represented him.
The Director of Public Prosecutions indicated for the case to be dealt via summary disposal.
Gardaí told the court that on a date in 2023, in the morning time, Mr Boyle's client allegedly 'used a sheet of paper to run up the side' of a woman's leg in a Kildare shop.
This alleged event caused shock to the woman, according to gardaí.
Judge Zaidan adjourned the case to a later date for hearing.
He also remanded the accused on continuing bail until the case resumes.
In addition, reporting restrictions were imposed by Judge Zaidan, in order to protect the identity of the alleged injured party.
