€10m furniture warehouse gets green light in Newbridge

Planning permission has been granted for a new furniture warehouse in the Great Connell area of Newbridge.

EZ Living Interiors Ltd has been approved by Kildare Co Council for the development on a 3.8 hectare site. 

An existing car park will be demolished to make way for the facility which has a gross floor area (GFA) of c 10,801 sqm. 

The warehouse building will be 160m in length, 65m in width and 17m in height.

It will include office space, which will include reception areas, conference/meeting rooms, breakout areas, canteens, and overnight truck driver accommodation

The truck yard will comprise some 12 docking bays, HGV parking bays and a smoking shelter.

Two site access points/roads off Newbridge South Orbital Relief Road will facilitate lorry access.

Some 86 car parking spaces, including some six customer collection spaces, and some 17 EV car parking spaces are included. 

44 bicycle spaces are also in the designs. 

The plans include the relocated of an existing bus stop 100m west along Newbridge South Orbital Relief Road to facilitate vehicles.

Approval is also given to cycle lanes, solar panels, fencing, landscaping and lighting.
