Alleged dangerous driving incident detailed to Kildare judge

A Naas District Court defendant has been accused of driving dangerously in Newbridge.

Judge Desmond Zaidan was informed about the allegation on Thursday, July 4 which concerns Jason Finn, with an address listed as 912 Cherryvile in Kildare.

Garda Sergeant David Hanrahan told the judge that on June 17 last, at around 6.25pm in The Paddocks region of Newbridge, gardaí stopped the 33-year-old in his vehicle.

However, Mr Finn allegedly proceeded to take off 'at high speed' and drove into an estate where children were playing.

It was alleged that the defendant overtook a vehicle at one point, and that he also allegedly drove into another estate.

According to Sgt Hanrahan, this allegedly caused another vehicle to take evasive action.

As directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) were not yet ready in the case, Judge Zaidan adjourned the case to November 28, in order to allow time for DPP directions.

He remanded Mr Finn on continuing bail until the case resumes.
