The case was heard in Naas District Court. File photograph.

A man was granted an interim protection order by a Naas District Court judge on Thursday, July 4 last.

The application was heard during an in-camera (in private) court session.

The man told Judge Desmond Zaidan that he had been with his ex-girlfriend for a number of years, but she had been abusive towards him.

He added that one of his children had passed away last year.

The judge agreed to grant the interim protection order, and adjourned the case to a later date for hearing.

He also said that the order also extends to the man's other children.
