A strike-out application was made in an alleged County Kildare murder case.
The application was heard in Naas District Court on Thursday, June 6 last.
Back in April, Judge Desmond Zaidan was told that Pádraig Delaney, whose address was given as 6 The Lane, Eustace Demesne in Naas, faces an allegation of the murder of 37 year old Shane Knott between April 3 to April 14, at that address.
The 43-year-old appeared again on the latest court date alongside barrister Mark Gibbons, who was acting on behalf of defending solicitor Tim Kennelly.
A bench warrant was also executed on Mr Delaney in relation to a separate matter and he was sent forward by Judge Zaidan to Ennis District Court for July 10.
Directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) were expected in the alleged murder case involving Mr Delaney.
However, they were unavailable on the latest date.
Mr Gibbons pointed out that Mr Kennelly instructed him to raise the issue of delay for DPP directions, and added that Mr Kennelly was seeking for the matter to be struck out.
However, the judge said that the allegations are recent, and agreed with gardaí that the investigation into the alleged murder 'is very complex', and as such, denied to strike the case involving Mr Delaney out.
Judge Zaidan remanded Mr Delaney in custody and adjourned the case to June 20, to allow time for DPP directions.
